Cornwall Pride is a not for profit organisation working to promote and celebrate equality and diversity in the county. 2011 will be our fourth year of bringing the celebration to the streets of Truro ( Cornwall's cathedral city) and we are very proud of what we achieve each year. The event is organised by a small but dedicated team of volunteers who all work year round to ensure the event is such a success. Of course we could not deliver such an event alone and we rely on support from the local authorities and businesses who pull out all the stops. Cornwall Pride consists of three main elements, the parade, the garden party and the evening marquee event. The parade brings an explosion of colour, music, arts and dancing to the streets of Truro. The parade leads everyone to the garden party which is held in the fantastic setting of Victoria Gardens where a host of stalls, fun and music await. The relaxed atmosphere in the gardens truly does provide the ideal location for people to meet friends old and new. The evening marquee event is a star studed spectacle and is the only bit of the day that we charge an entry fee for. Cornwall Pride is much more than a fun day out, its also very keen to promote the health and wellbeing of the LGBT community through information sharing both on the day and year round through our communication networks. We achieve this through close partnerships with statutory bodies.
